During Summer 2026, I set out to learn ceramics as a new creative medium. I began with a four-week handbuilding course and followed it with a six-week wheel-throwing course, using each class as an opportunity to explore the intersection of physical craftsmanship and digital interaction.

One of my first projects was a ceramic Tamagotchi that incorporated an NFC tag, allowing the object to connect to a digital water-tracking experience. The project explored how a playful, physical artifact could encourage healthier daily habits through lightweight technology.

As I gained confidence with the medium, I began thinking about how ceramics could support more seamless, everyday interactions. This led to a second concept: a ceramic flower vase that could launch a personalized news experience, giving me a curated overview of the day's most relevant updates while I eat breakfast. Together, these projects reflect my exploration of how everyday objects can bridge the physical and digital worlds, transforming ordinary routines into more engaging and intentional experiences.
